TYCO opens the CTDUT WEEK with a demonstration of valve systems

In the second participation on CTDUT WEEK, TYCO FLOW CONTROL  presented the “Partial Stroke” Biffi    monitoring Systems - IMVS and the “Line Break” Biffi monitoring and line blocking Systems, counting on the attendance of oil and gas segment representatives.

Carlos Lorusso, the Oil and Gas Manager for the Americas of TYCO FLOW CONTROL, demonstrated the operation of a valve inside a pipeline, simulating failures and solutions, always highlighting the importance of the safety performance of the products.

The presentation of the Partial Stroke safety system was the most important topic of the demonstration. “In case of failures, the presence of equipment that assure the remedy of pipeline emergencies is of great importance”, he commented, adding that one of the uses of PST is the closure of pipeline valves in an emergency situation. The maintenance technician of Transpetro, José Filho, said he was satisfied with the information offered by the lecture and the demonstrations.

"The Partial Stroke concept was the most interesting. It is important to be sure that, in an emergency, the valve will be closed”, he considered. “This safety test system serves precisely to work before the problem occurs, without affecting the operation", he mentioned.

The CO2 emissions generated by this and other demonstrations of the CTDUT WEEK, were compensated by the planting of    rubber trees in degraded areas in the Southeast region.
