Objectives: The objective of this proposal is to enable the basic and detailed conceptual engineering project as well as the construction. It is a pilot pipeline circuit (loop) for transporting gas, in real scale (16” diameter and 2.4 km long), which in the future will be fully instrumented, permitting research, development and testing of equipment, products, operational procedures and new technologies important for the pipeline sector.

This project will enable the construction of the initial part of the gas loop, which will be complemented in the future as a result of demands presented by companies and ICTs which shall participate in the pilot circuit application studies, an integral part of this first phase.

Expected Results:

• Availability of experimental installations on an industrial scale that will permit experimentally checking theoretically generated R&D.
• Possibility ofusing installations for developing engineering, construction, instrumentation, operation and safety technology for natural gas pipelines aimed at their industrial application.
• Allow tests and trainings to be realized in a full scale plant, avoiding risk actions to be executed at real operational pipelines.
